Northern Circuit – The Longest & Most Successful Route
The Northern Circuit is the newest and longest route up Mount Kilimanjaro, offering the highest summit success rate thanks to its extended itinerary and excellent acclimatization profile.
For the first two days, the trail follows the Lemosho Route before diverging to circle around the remote northern slopes, far from the busier southern trails. This path provides a quieter, more secluded trekking experience with expansive views of the mountain’s untouched landscapes.
The route eventually approaches the summit via Gilman’s Point, before descending along the same trail used by Machame and Lemosho. Its combination of length, gradual ascent, and solitude makes the Northern Circuit one of the best options for trekkers seeking both a high chance of reaching Uhuru Peak and a truly immersive wilderness adventure.
